Services you don't have to
build or run
Discovery, authentication, email, messaging, document sharing and document processing — all wired into the platform object model, plus App Store access for your clients. Call them from a workflow, a background job or a low-code action. No integration project, no vendor to onboard.
Access comes with Managed Hosting or a Management Tools license — Hosting and Management Tools
Connect, Authenticate, Look Up
Installations are not islands. The cloud services let solutions and people find each other, authenticate against one central identity provider, and draw on reference data we keep current so nobody has to maintain their own copy.
Discovery
Lets applications and users find and securely connect to other BW2 applications and users — no hard-coded endpoints to maintain as customers move or scale. This is the Business Wide Web the name BW2 comes from.
Reference Directories
Directories we provide and maintain — company registers, currency exchange rates, phone number and bank account identification. Query them from your solution, or let an AI agent use them as a trusted source.
OpenID Connect Server
One standards-compliant identity provider for the whole BW2 cloud. It verifies each request by asking the application itself — no credentials are stored in the cloud — and it is what the MCP server requires to authorise agent access.
The Infrastructure Behind Every Message
Mail servers and spam filters, carrier and push contracts, OCR pipelines, a document editing backend — the plumbing every business application needs and nobody wants to run. We operate it, you call it.
SMTP Service
Point the customer’s mail domain at our cloud and the mailboxes are native to the platform — spam and virus filtering included, every message filed on the account, project or ticket it belongs to.
Mail Integration
Keeping Office 365, Google Workspace or any IMAP host? The integration service syncs those mailboxes both ways — send, receive and track from the platform without moving the customer’s email.
Messaging Gateway
SMS, WhatsApp and push notifications to Apple and Google devices through one service. Appointment reminders, escalation alerts and 2FA codes without your own carrier contract or push certificates to manage.
Document Sharing & Editing
A WebDAV server plus an online editor for Word, Excel, PowerPoint and PDF — open a document straight from its business record and edit it in the browser. Expiring external links with per-recipient permissions cover clients and suppliers.
Document Processing
OCR for scans and photos, and text extraction that feeds full-text and vector indexing, with structural detail such as page count. The same service renders PDF versions of Office documents and thumbnails for previews, and its output plugs straight into the platform’s AI features.
Paid Tiers, Already Covered
A handful of the components we use have a paid tier that is better than the free one. We hold those licenses and keys and deliver them through the cloud services, so your users get the better experience without you buying, metering or operating anything.
Commercial Licenses
Where a library we build on has a paid edition, we hold the license and the cloud unlocks it — for example the Pro extensions of the Tiptap editor, whose richer editing behavior the free build does not include.
Hosted Commercial Services
Paid third-party services we operate for you to lift the product experience — for example WebSpellChecker behind the editor, giving spelling and grammar checks with no dictionaries to deploy and no per-seat license on your side.
AI Gateway
Use predefined engines — Gemini, Claude, OpenAI, Kimi — under our API keys, with token consumption metered per customer portal. It is also the backend behind platform functions such as invoice recognition.
Why through the cloud? A commercial license — or an API key — for someone else’s product cannot travel with a platform we give away and whose source we publish. Running these parts as cloud services is what lets us pass the paid experience on to you legally, and meter it fairly — the free platform keeps the open-source equivalents.
Use the Ecosystem
Turn your solution into an extensible ecosystem instead of building every domain-specific feature yourself. Clients tailor their own installation with the exact tools they need — and the store is reached through the cloud services, so only cloud-connected solutions can install from it.
Horizontal Solutions
Apps aren't locked to one partner's vertical. The same add-on can be installed by clients of any partner, which makes building genuinely horizontal solutions worthwhile.
For Developers
One codebase reaches every solution: accounts, employees, projects, sales and financials share an API and database structure, so your app extends them all without a fork per customer.
For Customers
Industry add-ons, integrations and single features install in one click — product value goes up without a project, and without waiting for your roadmap.
Distribution, licensing checks and installation all run over the cloud services. An on-premise solution without the cloud connection has no App Store access.
